Sports Activities

“Combinatory play seems to be the essential feature in productive thought.” Play often talked about as if it were a relief from serious learning. But for children play is serious learning. Play is really the work of childhood. “Play is essential to development because it contributes to the cognitive, physical, social, and emotional well-being of children.”

Practical Learning

There is no end to education. It is not that you read a book, pass an examination, and finish with education. The whole of life, from the moment you are born to the moment you die, is a process of learning. If you want to learn these activities then doing them practically will be a better option. Until you practically perform the action, you may not be able to learn to swim, ride or play cricket. We all know that practical learning is more important than theoretical learning for all students.

Extra Activities

Cartoons, have been an important part of everyone's childhood. We all know a big fan of Donald Duck, Bugs bunny. Did you know that the most popular cartoon is Mickey Mouse himself? We're not surprised! Cartoons teach important lessons not only to children but to adults too. A cartoon is one of the most effective ways to teach children about some of the most important qualities. Our favorite cartoon characters have talked about varied topics and lessons, from kindness and sharing, to competition and friendship, in the most easy way.

Cookery Show

Little chefs play a big part in the kitchen. They may not be the ones doing the cooking but they’re the ones teaching you about the value of patience. In Kanossa Convent School organised cookery show to teach little chefs the basics and they’ll grow up to master the art of cooking.

Craft Show

We describe management as arts, crafts and science. It is a practice that draws on arts, craft and science and there is a lot of craft - meaning experience - there is a certain amount of craft meaning insight, creativity and vision, and there is the use of science, technique or analysis.Create the things you wish existed.

Rainbow Activity

Be proud that you are an Indian because blessed are those who are born in this great country. Happy Republic Day 2023 ! On this special occasion, let's promise our motherland that we will do everything that enriches and preserve our heritage and our ethos. Wishing you all a very Happy Republic Day.Teaching children about Republic Day is a great way of instilling patriotism in them. It will give them a sense of belonging to the country they're born in and will help mold them into responsible citizens.

ANIMAL SHOW AT KANOSSA

Animals are unflinching and unreserved with their love for us. Sure, we feed them, pet them, play with them, and clean up after them.

YELLOW DAY CELEBRATION

Yellow is a color associated with sun. It symbolizes optimism, energy, joy, happiness and friendship. It might also stand for intellect.The motive of celebrating this yellow colour day was to make the children aware of yellow colour, its significance and to develop fine motor skills in the students. They spent the day with utmost enjoyment. Yellow- the colour of wisdom and intellectual energy had a positive influence on our tender tots.”

New Year celebration

As we all know, a school environment concentrates on academics most of the time. Celebrations provide an opportunity to indulge in non-academic activities, to bond and break the ice with each other. It deepens the peer relationships and brings the students closer to the staff, making everyone feel like a family.

CHRISTMAS CELEBRATION

The Santa Clause gives blessing to children and distributes the gifts among them. The cake and gifts are also distributed to poor children by the school staff on this day. Christmas celebration makes the end of the year a beautiful one. It spreads love and harmony among people of different religions.

FANCY DRESS COMPETITION

A fancy dress competition not only blends learning with fun but also develops confidence in students by giving them an opportunity to speak in front of their own classmates.

SPORTS DAY CELEBRATION 22-23

Taking part in sport can help us feel fitter, healthier and mentally strong, and that is just the start of it. Sport can also be fun, especially when played as part of a team or with family or friends. Children who play sports develop stronger bones and muscles, leading to a smaller chance of physical injury.Sports enables you to build better relationships with people you may be aware of, but not know personally.

POEM RECITATION COMPETITION

Recitation activities help students to build confidence as they learn to speak more accurately and persuasively about any piece of writing. Keeping this in mind, English Recitation Competition was organized for Grade Fledglings. Children astonished everyone with their voice modulation and amazing memorizing skills.

Halloween Celebration

It's important for many reasons as it is believed that on the day of Halloween, the souls of the dead return to their homes. This is helped by the people who dress up for the holiday in costumes and light bonfires to ward off spirits.

Diwali Celebration

Diwali celebrations in school began with a prayer to the almighty and a lovely idea that brought peace and love into our hearts and thoughts. Kids discussed the significance of the celebration, how virtue has always triumphed over evil, as well as the origins and traditions of Diwali in India.

Pink Day Celebration

The aim of the activity was to make the young ones identify pink colour in the objects they see around them. Children were explained that pink colour signifies love, beauty and kindness.

Dussehra Celebration

The festival is celebrated as the victory of Lord Rama over Ravana. It also celebrates the triumph of Goddess Durga over the demon Mahishasura. In many places, the effigies of Ravana are burned on this day to signify the destruction of evil, along with fireworks .

Gandhi Jayanti Celebration

Mahatma Gandhi or more lovingly known as Bapu by all Indians is internationally acknowledged for his doctrine of non-violence that led to India to its glorious freedom. 2 October every year is celebrated as Gandhi Jayanti the story of his life has impacted humanity to its core

GK Quiz Competition

GK Quiz gives the students a chance to enhance their knowledge of various national and international events of the world. General Knowledge or GK plays a major role in every students' life as most of the competitive exams ask various questions based on general knowledge

Learning With Visual Aids

Most teachers understand the power of visual aids in helping students grasp content. Teachers value the support that visuals lend to classroom instruction because they encourage students to make associations between pieces of information, soak up chunks of course content quickly, and function as a memory aid.

Eat Healty and Stay Healthy.

Eating healthy helps a child maintain their concentration and energy levels. This helps a child to effectively learn throughout the school day. By cutting down sugary foods and drinks, children learn better from healthy eating.

Show And Tell Competition

Show and tell sets the stage for children to become comfortable when speaking in public. When presenting during show and tell, students are expected to talk about a variety of topics, organize their thoughts and convey main ideas

English Poem Recitation Competition

Recitation is one of the most important and effective modes of learning a language and appreciating a piece of literature. The main purpose behind conducting such competitions is to build self-confidence, develop oratory skills and self-expression.

Orange colour Day Celebration

The children learnt various other things about the orange colour which also symbolizes enthusiasm, hope and prosperity. The children were asked to bring orange coloured objects in the class on that day. The classrooms were beautifully decorated with orange coloured objects, ribbons and soft toys.

Teacher's day Celebration

The Teachers' Day celebrations take place on September 5 across India, to mark the birth anniversary of Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. World Teachers' Day is celebrated to honour teachers for their accomplishments, efforts, and contribution to society as well as to the lives of their students.

Janmashtami Celebration

Janmashtami is celebrated when Krishna is believed to have been born according to Hindu tradition, which was in Mathura at midnight on the eighth day of Bhadrapada or the 23rd day of Shraavana.

Independence Day Celebration

Independence Day is a special ocassion for the country because it marks the end of British rule. It brings together people from all over the country. This day is marked as a national holiday with people celebrating it whole heartdely.It gives us immense pride to honour our freedom fighters and their sacrifices that allow us to enjoy a democratic, republic life, and we are indebted to their contribution in India's sovereignty and total independence today.

It's Rainy Seasons

Kids have an affinity for exploration and learning all that stuff. They love the sweet smell of petrichor and the fact that their electronicals don't operate in the wet environment. They'll study rain drops, evaluating them for sound, velocity and taste

Splash Painting

Splat Painting is a fun process art activity that is perfect for messy play days. Creating splat art is so much fun that your toddlers and preschoolers will want to make their own again and again.

Student's Creations

Palm Painting Activity

Painting helps develop muscle control. Working with a brush or small tool helps develop fine motor skills (small muscle control). While working on large sheets of paper or at the easel helps develop large muscle control (Gross Motor skills). Painting also helps develop your child's hand eye coordination.

MOTHERS DAY ACTIVITY.

Mother's Day is a day to celebrate and thank all mothers for the dedication, love, and affection they give their children every day. Mother is a safe pillar, a lap of unconditional love, smile, and word that calm down, that guide. For all mothers, who on Earth represent the wonderful miracle of creation; who generate with their womb and love with their heart; a good day on the date that par excellence celebrates them is Mother's Day!

BLUE DAY CELEBRATION

The color blue represents both the sky and the sea and is associated with open spaces, freedom, intuition, imagination, inspiration, and sensitivity. Blue also represents meanings of depth, trust, loyalty, sincerity, wisdom, confidence, stability, faith, and intelligence.

Sensory bags allow children to explore, discover, imagine, create, and learn while engaging many of their senses. They are great mess free sensory play. This is a feature that moms and teachers can especially appreciate!

EARTH DAY CELEBRATION

Every year, Earth Day is celebrated on 22nd April at GIIS Surat to remind the students of their duties towards 'Mother Nature. ' As a part of environmental education, "Go- Green" initiative was taken to engage the whole school community in making a difference. While there are many activities children can do on Earth Day to improve the world, the biggest benefit Earth Day can provide is education. If children implement what they learn on Earth Day year-round, they can help the planet become a cleaner place for generations to come.

PURPLE DAY CELEBRATION

Purple is a mixture of the calm stability of the color blue and of the fierce energy and strength.Purple is said to represent transformation. It is the color of royalty because of its association with the colored clothing of ancient monarchs and their relatives. It is the most powerful visible wavelength out of all of the colors in the rainbow. It can symbolize many things, but to sum it up in a few words, purple represents strength, transformation, power, and royalty.
